Why a dog park?
A dog park is a facility set aside for dogs to exercise and play off-leash in a controlled environment under the supervision of their owners. Dog parks not only provide owners with a place to gather and socialize but also allow the dog to satisfiy its need for canine play and companionship in a controlled and monitored environment. Dog parks are beneficial to both the owner and the dog(s).
Dog parks are beneficial to the community by promoting responsible pet ownership and the enforcement of dog-control laws, while giving dogs a place to exercise safely thus helping to reduce any behaviorial problems, and dog parks also help provide an area for community-building socializing.
