Mission Statement-
The West Side Dog Park is an incorporated non-profit organized exclusively
for creating a community dedicated to the enrichment
of dogs and the cultivation of friendships.
Specifically the creation of a dog park, raising the funds for the park,
and long term maintenance of the park.
About Dog Parks-
The concept of dog parks has been around for many years, but only in the past 5-6 years have they become popular in our area. There are many benefits of a dog park in a community:
- Dog parks promote physical fitness for owners and will provide the space and freedom to the dog while being properly supervised.
- A dog park promotes responsible pet ownership because proper licensing and proof of vaccinations will be required before dogs are allowed to use the park.
- A dog park provides opportunities for neighbors and non-neighbors alike to socialize and share pet information. Dog parks can bring folks together and create a greater sense of community.
- In increasing frequency, research has shown that more and more potential home-owners and residents consider the availability of a dog park. A dog park increases the desirability of a community both to young and old alike.
